The HT3 GEOMETRY
COMPARES TO THE FOLLOWING COMPETING BRANDS :
(VERY SIMILAR GEOMETRY FOR ABOUT $1000 LESS PER CARBON FRAMESET)
- Trek Farley 9.8 carbon (S)
- Pivot Les Fat carbon (S)
- Specialized Fatboy (S)
- Rocky Mountain Blizzard alloy (M/L)
- RSD Mayor alloy (M/L)
- Framed Alaskan Carbon (M/L)
EVERY FAT BIKE FRAME HAS DIFFERENT RIDING CHARACTERISTICS
The HT3 frame design dials in on 3 specific riding areas :
- more Upright "all-mountain" (AM) feel
Whether its on singletrack, cruising the beach, climbing a long hilly ascent, or racing in a winter ultra, this frame will deliver. It has a taller Stack and shorter Reach (see sizing chart) than most Fat Bike frames.
With its medium/long chainstay length, the HT3 can tackle snow, and it can tackle hills. STEEP HILLS. With a 1x28t RaceFace chainring, a good sets of 4.8in Maxxis Minion tires, with 60+ Grips Studs in the rear for traction.... you can tackle almost any winter terrain with this bike, without feeling "all stretched out" over the frame.
Conbine the build with 27.5in or 29ers (pictured to the left) for even faster XC riding in the summer months.
HT3 FRAME GEOMETRY CHART :
how we stack up against the competition
If you are a rider between 5'4" and 6'0", in the market for a lightweight carbon FAT bike, and testing out the competition, check out the above chart to see how our HT3 carbon frame sizes up against the competition. Initially, it's all about "stack" and "reach"...forget all the other hype or advertising when selecting a frame.
A frame MUST fit you properly, or it will rob you of potential power transfer and performance gains.
Don't fall for the mindset that you can eventually fit yourself into the bike you want... rather, focus on finding a bike that WILL fit you right away, without lots of cockpit and saddle modifications. STACK and REACH is the reference point for any good fit.
When fitted into the proper frame, your FAT bike should feel just like a rigid MTB. You should feel 100% in control of your bike, and it should not feel like the bike is controlling your actions on the trails. Usually, riders state they forgot they were riding a FAT bike once their fitment was dialed in properly.
If you are having a difficult time climbing, sprinting, or riding singletrack on a given Fat Bike design, then your STACK and REACH numbers are most likely off, for your specific body type and build.
The HT3 frame design is one of the easiest Stack and Reach configurations to get used to, when crossing over from Road, TT or MTB classifications.
